Me Week 6 | Blue Mountains Photographer
Well here I am again! Week 6 – as requested by Jo I am smiling! I took Jo’s photos in December and she would not believe me when I told her how lovely she looked when she was smiling! I have a feeling that is why she requested a photo of me smiling. OK she right I think I look awful smiling! Just as she felt about her! But after all this challenge is so that I know how it feels to see myself in photos – So there Jo – Me smiling… and I hate it..
Cam took this photo of me on Friday night when we were at Coogee. It was darker than when I was taking their photos so the sky is not as blue he did a good job though to capture this in the dark. Taken at f1.2.

I start school tomorrow! Looking forward to it, but also having a hard time thinking about everything I will have to fit in around being a full time student… Oh well better go pack my lunch box!
You may have noticed that I have added a ” Gift Shop” to my website! I have not put anything in the Gift shop yet but I will soon. I collected my flower prints today so they will be my first addition once they are framed, I also have the animal collection for the children to put up! So I will work on getting that done!

Surprising afternoon| Blue Mountains Photographer
On Friday after school pick up I headed down to the city to collect a print order that was ready. The traffic was horrendous and we got there about 4 minutes after the lab closed….
I decided since we had travelled down there and it was a Friday night we’d do something fun! So we headed over to Coogee where we had fish and chips on the beach after the sun had gone done and before a big storm came through. It was so dark and blue! It was a very strange light so of course I got my camera out and captured some amazing photos. I have done nothing to the colours when processing these photos – this is how they were SOOC ( Straight out of Camera ) Once I showed the kids the colours in these on the LCD display they happily posed away! How fantastic is this sky?????????

I got home so excited to get these shots up only to find our Modem had died! today we went and bought a new one. and WOW at the speed of this new one!!!
Due to the weather I did not get to do the shoot I had booked for yesterday – hopefully the weather will behave in two weeks when we have it rescheduled for. Next weekend I am photographing a little baby boy who was born on Saturday! So keep an eye out for newborn loveliness next week! Weather permitting. He lives on a large block of land so the session is going to be held outdoors.
Thanks for stopping by!
2010 has commenced! | Blue Mountains Photographer
Well the kids have been in school for a few days and as I am also enrolled to study full time this year, I have spent this week getting everything organised and up to date with work prior to starting the course. The last thing I needed to complete before I started was James and Rebecca’s wedding. Today I have completed that job! So it is now time to order all the proofs and get them up to start designing their Wedding Album!
Here are two of my favourites from todays processing.

I have my first shoot of 2010 on Saturday – weather permitting So it is full steam ahead!!!! Due to the fact that I am studying full time this year I have scaled back to working part-time. This means that I will not be taking on as many sessions so please get in early to make your bookings. At this stage I have a few bookings available in March, then I am not available until May! All of those that have vouchers need to really think about when you want your session as this only leaves a few available bookings where these vouchers are valid! So please get in contact soon to avoid disappointment.
It is crazy that by the time we settle in to the new year we have already lost a month. Although to be honest I had the best month just relaxing and hanging out with my family and getting us ready for a super busy year ahead! I am now refreshed, and excited to get back into the swing of it all and all the new and fabulous things that 2010 has in store for us!
Contact me here if you would like further information about having a session with me.
Thanks for stopping by

A restful morning | Blue Mountains Photographer
He starts Pre-school next week so this is going to be a less seen sight. He is such a loving little boy in the mornings. Today he came out of his room cuddling this dog, and that dog continued to be cuddled for a few hours. I am always amazed by the light my 50 1.2L finds and it did it’s thing for me this morning. It was dark this morning but from this photo you’d never know! This was taken at f1.4 ISO 400 1/50

I have gotten so much work done today. All of it was new to me and I struggled ( lots of swearing and table hitting!) all sorted now thoug and it gives me the opportunity to introduce some new products. All the samples have been ordered so once they are here expect a big reveal!!!
Night all….

A quick self portrait | Blue Mountains Photographer
Well I have ignored my phone all morning as it beeps at me to take my self portrait – then I looked up and saw the time. I have to go out so I rush around and managed to capture this.

Taken beside the window with the light streaming through!
Ok now to head out!
Catch you later!

I have more to share! | Blue Mountains Photographer
I have more images from my children’s session at the rocks! Today I have got all my photo’s from summer that I am going to order ready in their folder and am going to make up an album of the session at the rocks. I thought I’d share a few of the photos I have processed today!

well we are heading out for a treat this afternoon and then getting ready for the first full week of school!
Catch you all next week!

Lazy Saturday! |Blue Mountains Photographer
Well after my recent Photo of the day project I put the camera down for a few days and did lots of computer work. I have placed lots of orders and sorted a few programs that I bought but had not taken the time to learn, but I was having withdrawals, so when I looked over at my little man having a few minutes rest watching my iPhone with lovely light coming through the window I decided it was time to get the camera out!

I have also managed to get all my January photos of my family ordered today. well in the folder ready to order. I ordered a large 20×25 print for the wall and the rest in a possible new product!!! Once I get it if I like it and think it is suitable I will add it to my packages. Stay tuned for an update on that. For now I am just excited to be ordering 150 photos of my family!
Hope everyone else is having a relaxing or exciting weekend! I have a busy week coming up. I have to enrol this week in my course and well after that – BUSY BUSY BUSY is what I am expecting…

Oh my did someone say High School? | Blue Mountains Photographer
Oh boy!!! I sent my eldest off to High School today. Well actually I didn’t he and his mates set off together. They all got together and banned the Mummies and cameras and headed off by themselves. I knew my son was ready so this came as no surprise. Also one of the reason we chose the local High School was so he had some independence but wow started first day. So proud of him. He is growing so fast and he is ready for it!
I remember being nervous going to high school for the first time, he and his mates are cool as about it all. I went out and started singing “off to high school” and his mates just looked at me and replied – yeah as they shrugged their shoulders to indicate SO WHAT???
Here he is in his uniform. I was lucky to get these, well actually I resolved to threatening to turn up at school with my huge lens if he did not let me grab a few shots in the front yard. Even mentioned I’d do it tomorrow when the older years are there too!! Heheheheh mean Mum!

So my POTD of the summer holidays is over! I am back to work with my first session on the 6th of February. Plenty of ordering and packaging to do before then and of course back to processing James and Rebecca’s wedding photos. I have had a fantastic break, have really enjoyed these holidays with the kids, very grateful that there were only a few hot days and am now feeling refreshed and ready to take on 2010!!!!
I am only taking a few more bookings for the Queensland trip so if you are considering please let me know.
Thanks for following my POTD over the last 40 or so days. I can’t wait to bring you all my client sessions this year!!

POTD 39 | Blue Mountains photographer
I did take photos today but as today is Monday I am posting another photo taken by my 12 year old son. He has been out in the yard today practicing on getting his focus spot on. So I thought I’d give him a body to focus on! This is the view most of you see of me!

As I have been banned from going anywhere by children who just want to stay home, I have been trying to get holidays organised. I am having a hard time which is not like me – I love to travel but feel Blah about it at the moment. We have our Barrier reef trip organised, so I thought I’d move on to organising the 2011 holiday which should be a big one. Just not sure where to start. Life changes so much in that amount of time so arrrgghhhh to hard to know where to go! We have a week to use though and if I don’t plan it soon will lose it!!!! So back to researching dates and locations. Thinking France? USA? ohhhh no idea!
Ok have a relaxing day. Maybe a little nap is what I need?

POTD 36,37 and 38! | Blue Mountains Photographer
Ok so I got a little carried away doing the photos from day 35 that I forgot to add these this morning!
Friday I went out for dinner with some friends from school. _ easy to say old friends but we are ignoring the fact that we are old and that it was our 20 year school reunion that got us all back in contact again. I realised when I sat down that I had not taken a photo of the day so whipped out my iPhone and took one of the pizza! We ordered so much food and ate hardly any, it was way too hot to eat so unfortunately as bad as we felt about it we just could not eat it.

Saturday we went shopping for School supplies including shoes. I hate shopping so much and really did not have the patience for dealing with going into every shop and listening to the children say – I don’t like those. So I took the little ( nice ) one for a coffee break!

Tonight we are having our family favourite Salt and Pepper Salmon. This is little H helping Daddy!

Right it is on the table! Night!!!!
