Family with a view! | Blue Mountains family Photographer
Yesterday I finally got to meet up with Brett, Kerri-ann and their two gorgeous girls. This session has been re-scheduled three times due to rain so we were relieved to see a dry day! The conditions were fantastic for photo taking actually. Cloudy yet so green due to all the rain we’ve had.
Kerri-ann organised this session through the Fundraising I have organised with Kachan School of Tumbling and Performance!
Here are just a few to tie you over til I get the gallery ready!

I had a fantastic day with you! a breathtaking location! and two super stunning girls! parents who are so in love. A truly gorgeous family! Thank you! for letting me capture memories for you to treasure forever!

Celebrating a new life! | Blue Mountains Family photographer
Today I had the honour of witnessing a family welcome the newest member of their family. Little Master M was Baptised today and the family invited me along to capture some wonderful memories. I have a few photos ready for them to see, The rest will be about 2 weeks, and I know there are some very excited people waiting for them, so I will do my best to get them ready quickly.

We were worried it was going to be raining. Instead we had to find ways to keep cool. The Men did very well to wear their jackets! This weather is crazy! This means that the session that has been rescheduled 3 times was also done today! I will be back with the Johnston’s session sneak peek in the morning! We had a wonderful morning in the bush today with some fabulous views!
Thank you again for having me today, I hope these moments we captured today are everything you hoped for!
Have a great time at the reception and I will speak to you all soon!

New Toys | Blue Mountains Photographer
My new light meter turned up yesterday. The weather here is rain, rain and more rain but, as I was busting to use it we went out on the front verandah ( so that there was some light to meter!) I am learning so many new ways to use my camera and loving it. To take this photo I set a custom white balance in the camera with my fancy spring out 18% grey card then used my meter to measure the light and walllaaahhh!!! a perfectly exposed and colour balanced image. Of course I then put my new learned Black and white conversion to practice. The camera was set to f1.2 my favourite place to be!!! For a miserable, wet, dark day I am fairly happy with the result.
I am meant to be doing two sessions tomorrow. I have a feeling I may be down to one. One is a Baptism so no changing the date on that one. The other, well a session that we were hoping for third time lucky but not so sure. Rain is going to be an issue again I think. Fingers crossed it clears.

I have come back to add another!

Thanks for stopping by hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Black and white | Blue mountains photography
I got a picture out today to test my new learnt way of converting to Black and white! I quite like it! There are so many ways to do thing in Photoshop and today I was shown a new way. So as with everything always best to practice. SO I have grabbed a photo I took a few months ago and had a play!

Let me know what you think?

Water!
I am hoping that this image shows a relationship between water and nature and a possible spiritualness???

Let me know what you think? It had to be black and white! I do like the colour version but that is not the brief!
Another busy 3 days ahead for me! So catch you all on Friday!

Session Albums
I put two gorgeous Albums together this weekend and I thought I’d blog them as the colours are pretty special. Tanya chose ( well actually her 3 year old chose) a bright pink Fuchsia Linen and Joanne chose a Purple gold Japanese Asahi! How fabulous do they look!

A busy week ahead for me with two sessions next weekend! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Me Week 8 | Blue mountains photographer
This is late late late!!! Oh well it is here. I am handing this one in as my assignment! ( I think – it is the 3rd one I have decided I am handing in so we’ll see, a lot can change in a week!!)

Right now back to work I have one out of 3 albums ready! Lots to do!!!
I have a small announcement too – due to the amount of work I have taken on studying full time I am reducing the number of sessions I offer. At this stage I will do 2 a month. I have 2 available in May and am now taking bookings in August and September. So if you want a session you really do need to book well in advance. I only have 2 appointments where the vouchers will be valid so please if you have a voucher and want to use this contact me as soon as you can! I also have one available in Brisbane in April. March, June and July are booked out
Thanks for stopping by! I hope to hear from you soon!

My sons wall art!
I have not posted photos of my sons visit to the zoo! I made up 8×8 inch square mounts for my sons room! There are 9 – 8 animals all around him! He loves it and refers to them as his animals.

I have no shoots this weekend but will be spending the weekend putting together clients orders and designing a coffee table book for Master L’s parents! I also hope to make a big dent in the numerous assignments I have for my course! I have something like 17 photos to take all with a different brief – I am going to be so busy. My imagination is running wild and I am madly jotting down my ideas and trying to work out how to capture them! I am excited as 7 of them are to be captured on film!!!!! I have not used film since I was in school so I am very excited about getting in the dark room! So I may be back on Monday with a few shots I catch over the weekend!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

New products | Blue Mountains Photographer
I spent today picking up and then drooling over my new products!!! I am introducing a variation to my albums and a new way to store loose prints!
So first up the coffee Table book. These are such a gorgeous product you will have to see them to appreciate the quality, but here is an idea!
They come in a Red or Black slip cover.

And then have a dust cover that is custom designed using photos from your session, this matches the cover of the book, but also has a inside sleeve that can have photos or a description.

These are the portrait box. Again the box is designed using images from your session, printed on silk. In the box you will receive a print of each image at 5×4 inches, with plenty of room for you to add more if you like. They hold up to 300 prints! I have done one for my family containing all the photos I took over the summer holidays! The other is for Rebecca and James and it holds 300 images from there wedding!

And here they are sitting on a shelf! Aren’t they gorgeous! I love the idea of the image box as actually holding the prints and flicking through them is just a wonderful way to view images! I did this with my nan last year when I went to visit her and watching the memories pop back into her head as she described who everyone was, was a memory I will hold forever. And once she told me who they were and a little story about them or what they were doing in the picture she’d pass them on to me to hold. I think we all have such a strong relationship with images and its a shame that we don’t print them out and pass them around like we used to! So that is my aim to provide you with some great images and a box that leaves space for you to add more of your own images to! To provide you memories to share with your family for years and years and one day be passed on to the next generation!

I’m going to be late agin with my self portrait but I will do one! Probably in class on Thursday again!
Thanks for stopping by if you are interested in holding a session so that we can organise one of these Fabulous new products please contact me!

More of little Master L | Blue Mountains Newborns photographer
I have almost finished all of Master L’s images! Oh there are so many! As strange as it may seem the light on cloudy days is just wonderful for taking photos. We were lucky to have a shoot on such a day, where the windows were large enough to let all that wonderful light in! As a result I have one huge gallery to show L’s mum and dad! Here are a few more to keep you going til we can get together and you can see the whole gallery – I’ll be in touch to organise a time with you soon!
Who doesn’t like baby feet?

Or a baby yawn?

one that we managed to get while the rain had a break! How fantastic is the tree in there back yard. In a few years I will be taking photos of Bigger Master L climbing in this tree!

I hope everyone had a fantastic week and of course the weekend is good to you all! We may have our first rain free weekend for a while. I hope so I have a shoot tomorrow that the rain has cancelled twice!
