Spring is coming! | Blue Mountains Photographer

The Cherry Blossoms are blossoming! So Spring must be just around the corner! We have lots of gardening to do this spring so it is exciting that it is nearly time! I feel like I have not used my camera in ages…. we have a sick little boy here so I have been housebound. He has fallen asleep this afternoon so without being able to wonder further than the garden i thought I’d take some photos of the flowers….. Hopefully I will get a pass out over the weekend! If not a client as the client I had booked in for this weekend has had to postpone! So if anyone is interested there is a photographer sitting here just busting to put her camera to use!

Autumn! | Blue Mountains photographer

Today I spent the afternoon with my friends in the Beautiful Blue Mountains. In my may of the blue Mountains there is not much to say it is Autumn, the story is very different higher up. Autumn is everywhere…. I think I have a choice of two shots for an assignment so a pleasing day. I thought I’d share some of the colour with you all…. The view from laying down looking through the gorgeous colours of the trees to the fabulous vibrant blue sky! LOVE Autumn – of course it means winter is coming and we have made it through another summer.

Some holiday snaps! | Blue Mountains Holiday Photographer

So we are back from 2 and a half weeks away. We drove about 5000Kms and have now been to the Great Barrier Reef. The washing is up to date, the world feels back to normal – almost like we never went. Luckily I have a few – Ok most of you know that means A LOT of photos to prove we went. Not all of them on my camera as the environment was not expensive camera friendly, so I will see how the cheapy point and shoot went later. But for now I have a few shots to share.

This was the first time as a family we have been on a holiday where we planned to do nothing. We are tourers I think. We have done the USA and Europe, as well as other Australian cities, this was the first time we planned to sit by the pool and do nothing and I will be honest everyone coped really well with this EXCEPT ME! I was going mad. I was so stressed over having nothing to plan other than which pool we’d sit by and which restaurant we’d eat in. on day 4 I pretty much lost it. I decided it was time to buy a book – not something I do often but it was the best decision I made. I then spent the remaining 3 days reading the book and left the kids and Mark to swim and organise dinner destinations. And strangely enough the long road trip was my favourite part of the trip. I like sitting in the car. Sure the kids had a few fights but no more in the car than by the pool. Yet the scenery changed every few minutes and there was always a new place we’d be arriving at “soon” Our youngest got the famous question wrong and kept asking ” are we here yet” LOL… so he got the answer “Yes”: every time and we all got amused as he was so excited to know we were here….. He did not work out we were here but not there!!!! too cute.

Ok on with a few photos….

Water!

I am hoping that this image shows a relationship between water and nature and a possible spiritualness???

Let me know what you think? It had to be black and white! I do like the colour version but that is not the brief!

Another busy 3 days ahead for me! So catch you all on Friday!

POTD Summer 2009/10 | Blue Mountains Photographer

Over the summer break I am going to choose one photo to be the ” Photo of the Day” (POTD) I am then going to make up an album at the end of the holidays.

So day one of my self set challenge and I was in trouble! What is a girl meant to do when she rushed out the door so stressed as her children put up such a fight NOT go into town with her – where she had an order from the lab to collect so that her clients got their prints in time for Christmas, So stressed and in such a rush that she forget her 4th child ( Camera ) Use an iPhone of course!

Taking a photo everyday is not too hard for any of us. I guess me forgetting my camera makes that point. We ( most of us) have a camera in our pocket every day in the form of the mobile phone. So there really isn’t any excuse not to capture the precious moments.

Here is my favourite photo from yesterday. We went to town, to David Jones to have our Santa photo taken. Our little man was so excited! Once inside with Santa he was a little hesitant but he bravely and proudly sat on Santa’s knee. He asked before we went in if I would be taking his photo and was very nervous when I told him that someone else was taking the shot. It took all 4 of us to convince him it would be ok to have his photo taken by someone else! Very cute. He wore his hat for the rest of the night and when it fell off everyone knew about it. HE SCREAMED like it was the end of the world, and as you know it got quite windy in Sydney last night. So there was a lot of screaming.

Anyway here is the photo – up on Daddies shoulders looking at the Christmas windows!

Will be back tomorrow with another photo! We are doing something exciting for one of my children today so the shot is already sorted!

Thanks for stopping by! If I have inspired you to do a POTD I’d love to hear about it!
