I took a little trip down south this week with my children! We had a lovely relaxing time, just hanging out at the beach and the indoor pool! We fit a trip in to the Zoo while Mark was with us over the weekend too. I got some great shots of the Giraffe again and a little family of Monkeys. The baby was so cute!

I also got a few of my own children, which is always a treat for me! Love school holidays for just this reason! Can you believe in the middle of winter they actually swam in the ocean???? Crazy!!!


We had a lovely time, and now it is time to get ready for the back to school routine… I will miss these holidays they have been so relaxing!

I did spend a little time doddling in my note book and over the next couple of days have a few new releases to announce! A little hint is for October Christmas sessions! I will be putting 4 weekends aside in October to hold special Christmas sessions. I have not posted photos of my sons visit to the zoo! I made up 8×8 inch square mounts for my sons room! There are 9 – 8 animals all around him! He loves it and refers to them as his animals.

I have no shoots this weekend but will be spending the weekend putting together clients orders and designing a coffee table book for Master L’s parents! I also hope to make a big dent in the numerous assignments I have for my course! I have something like 17 photos to take all with a different brief – I am going to be so busy. My imagination is running wild and I am madly jotting down my ideas and trying to work out how to capture them! I am excited as 7 of them are to be captured on film!!!!! I have not used film since I was in school so I am very excited about getting in the dark room! So I may be back on Monday with a few shots I catch over the weekend!

On Saturday while I was standing with my Daughter waiting for clients to arrive, there was a rustle in the grass and a loud thudding of something BIG running – we stood there, still as, just hoping that it was not running towards us! Luckily it wasn’t and up the tree went this huge Goanna! Amazing how close you can be to Wildlife and not know. We had been standing there for about 10 minutes, So my guess is he figured we weren’t moving on quick enough so he had better make a run for it. He would have been about 2 metres from us the whole time.

Last day of Primary school here for my eldest. The end of an era – pretty strange really. Hard to believe he is getting so old – they grow up quickly! Anyway the point being it is school holidays here which means I am taking a break I plan to return to doing shoots in Mid January, I will still be answering emails and phone calls – of course I have the January special running so if you are planning on having photos updated you will need to book in prior to 31st of December to take advantage of the bonus 16×20 Canvas mount. And knowing me I will come in a blog a few entries over the break! I am thinking of doing a photo a day over the summer break to make up an album for my family. Always a good time to get my photos up to date when I am taking a break from doing everyone else’s families.

I have big plans for next year including doing a little commercial work and doing a few more fund raisers.

I took my camera out in hunt of a subject to photograph with my Macro lens today! And I found a little bee with pollen all over his nose. I laughed as I watched through the lens – he started to scratch! Too cute. Imagine being a bee and having your nose in a flower all day! would need a good antihistamine !!

Ok well it is that magic day again where I get to wish everyone a great weekend!!! SO there it is Have a great weekend everyone! I have 2 shoots over the weekend so will hopefully back to share a few sneak peaks!

Well I never accept a present before my birthday – once had a diamond ring in a box in my husbands sock draw for 8 months. He had a watch in mine that he got out anytime we went somewhere he wanted to wear it. Mine stayed there the 8 months I did not even sneak a look. BUT!!! well I ordered so much stuff over the past 2 days – some of which I am still waiting on and some my husband picked up yesterday. This Macro was one of the things he picked up yesterday. It was decided that it will not be my birthday present as I have a newborn shoot that will be just screaming out for photographs of the little details. Toe nails, fingers, eyelashes etc…. So I used it today for practice and will wait for all the other gear – only 2 more days anyway!

I think this lens and I are going to be great friends. It is so fun getting such details. Those pink daisies are only about 3 or 4 cms wide I can fill a whole frame WOW! and look at my little guys eyes! amazing. Can’t wait to take photos of the newborn tomorrow!

Been a very productive day today. I have the client galleries back up for those that did not get time to order before my old site disappeared and I have the cart price list up to date. It is pretty amazing all the little things my web designer added for me. Please be patient with me as I am still learning, so can only hope I have done everything right!!!

I have also updated the special offers page ( on this blog). I have added details of the new Referral and Loyalty Programs I am introducing, So check it out. It also has the special offers of the bonus Brag book for bookings before September 30 (still 2 sessions available) and the Christmas offer for all sessions held in October and November. I have increased the sessions available to 2 per week as I was running out of session times so get in quick between now and Christmas I only have 13 session times available.

Ok todays Photo! Can you see the Dolphin? I was taking photos of my 3 on the last morning of our holiday and noticed a few dolphins swimming about in the ocean. How cool! I was really trying to get a photo that I could mount on canvas at 40×30 inches – not sure this is it. But hope to have something that is perfect. How hard is it to get a 2 year old to do as his mother says? Glad I do not have as much trouble with little clients. On top of a 2 year old. How hard is it to get a 10 and nearly 12 year old to hold the position while I talk the 2 year old into co-operating?

We have just spent a wonderful relaxing week away ( Of course it was not all wonderful I did have 3 children with me) but hey mostly wonderful! Wonderful in between the broken glasses and the fights and the whhhhattt how many photos are you going to take MUM!!!, when are we eating????? Can’t we just stay in do we have to go out again????

OK so truth it was wonderful in my mind. I had a great time, and can’t wait for the October holidays where I hope to do it all over again!!!

One trip we all loved was the trip to Mogo Zoo. We have stayed at this same resort a few times now but never made the trip to Mogo Zoo. It was great. And the high light —- well see the photo below! My little man Paid and got his money back three times while miss L lined up. In the end he was upset that he did not get a go but WOW miss L did, Brave thing. The tongue did lick her a few times and she said it was YUCK!! but hey how many 10 yo’s have fed a real Giraffe? How cool is she? I think this photo will make it to school on news day!!

Well with the new website and blog I have a huge job ahead of me this week getting client Galleries up on the new site and I still have to complete processing on Miss O’s shoot. I am waiting on 4 Babies to be born and have a few other bookings coming up including my 2nd wedding, so holidays are over here and it is back to work!!!
