Blue skies of Winter | Blue Mountains Photographer
I have another announcement – I am now offering Digital files.. I was getting asked quite often for Digital negatives and was quite hesitant in offering them as I did not want to compromise the quality of prints that My wonderful clients received. At the same time I realise that people want to share their images online and up load them to their mobiles and Ipod/Pads and of course use them as screen savers and in their Digital frames. So I have come up with a compromise that I think will be perfect. Once you have ordered a certain level of Pro quality images you can either purchase or receive the Digital files as a bonus. I think this is a great idea, as I said I do understand why people want the files, But I don’t want clients to miss out on the high quality product that I offer. The digital files will be converted to a colour space that is compatible with your local mini lab, as this colour space is much smaller than the colour space my Pro lab uses you will notice a difference in the vibrancy and depth of the colours but as you will have a range of images/Albums/canvas mounts etc… I am sure you will be OK with this and of course I will still hold the larger file so you can also order further prints later if you choose. If you are interested head into the tab at the top that says prices… all the details are there….
As promised I will release the details of the Christmas Packages in the next few weeks….. If you are interested you can drop me an email to reserve a spot! the dates again for the Christmas special are 2nd,9th,16th and 23rd of October….. And extended families are more than welcome!
Now for a few images! I love winter!!! I only like going to the beach in winter…. Weird I know. but the sky is always so Blue! and you can sit on the beach and feel good about sitting in the sun. No chance of sun burn! So we usually go to the beach during winter for a holiday! Which is what we did this winter break. I think maybe by the time we move to the UK I might like the beach in summer? but for now I will continue to enjoy my winter beach trips!
Here are a few reasons I love the beach in Winter!

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

My Birthday Girl | Blue Mountains Photographer
I like to put an album together each year of my children. It’s a lovely idea that I do each year around their birthday. This way I remember when it’s time to do their album and it is my little extra gift to them, where they get to spend a day being pampered by Mum. This year I attempted to do this while on our little Down South break. It was not so successful so we have some time put aside next week just Lou and I. All she wanted was for me to hurry so she did not miss out on what Mark was doing with the boys ( he was just playing with them to keep them out of our way? ) Anyway I managed a few so thought I’d share a couple here!

I can not believe how fast time flies!
I have also updated my prices tab and the special offers to include a special package I have put together for Newborn sessions. If you are pregnant at the moment or know someone that is please take a look! It is such a gorgeous time to capture your baby and those first moments of babies life. I have a studio set up in my home especially for newborns, which together with a few props we can create a custom set of images for you to cherish forever! It is best to book in your session as soon as you can as we need the session to be as flexible as possible. The way I take bookings for newborns is just around the time of expected birth? that way if they arrive early or a little late, as you are pencilled in I can be flexible with the time slots knowing I am expecting you! The package has been put together to include 20 copies of your favourite image so you can hand them out to everyone without leaving yourself without a copy! Perfect for popping in with your thank you card, to all those that spoil your little one when he arrives! There are a few examples of my Newborn work here! Go and check it out… no one can resist a newborn!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Family by the sea! | Blue Mountains Location photographer
Recently on a road trip up to the Great Barrier Reef I had the pleasure of stopping off at Redcliffe to photograph Ellen, Danny and their family! It was a gorgeous day except for the wind, which of course was exaggerated due to being on the coast! We spent the afternoon Keeping Master 3 interested with Footballs and walks along the beach, even a change of outfits.. This family is football mad – Their priness had a gorgeous little outfit made by her Nan – her very own custom made football cheer uniform!
Here are a few from the afternoon! More to follow! should have your gallery ready next week Ellen and Danny, I know are keen to see these so enjoy!

Thanks for spending the afternoon with me and giving us a few directions for our long road trip! catch you next time we are in Brisbane or you come down to Sydney!!!
I have a few sessions available in May if you are interested please contact me here, June is booked out at this stage!

Buckets and Spades! | Blue Mountains Children’s photographer
Today we had a relaxing day at the beach – just the little one and I. I had a few things to do on the way so we only had just over an hour before we had to turn around and head back to do school pick up!. On the way we bought a new Beach set to play with. It is amazing how much fun can be had at the beach if you just have a $12 bucket and spade set, with a rake and a few sand moulds! Here are a few photos!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I have a few ordering sessions tomorrow, Then it is school holidays so no more sessions til School returns. I have a few sessions available at the end of April and then in May if you are interested. June is now fully booked out, so I am also taking bookings in July. If you have a voucher and want to use it I suggest you contact me soon as time is running out to use these vouchers. I also have a special for all sessions held in May – you will find the details in the Special offers and Booking Information tab above.

The beach | Blue Mountains Photographer
Another shot I took last week when I went to the beach!

I have a session available on Saturday the 27th of March if anyone was interested in getting photos for Mothers Day! Please contact me soon! I am looking forward to getting together with Master R again this week. I photographed him as a newborn, then with all his cousins when he was about three months old and this week I will be getting together with him again to take some shots of him in my home studio sitting up! So I am looking forward to seeing him and how much he has grown!
Hope everyone is having a great week!

Landscape | Blue Mountains photographer
So you usually see portraits from me but this course is pushing me to venture further into all forms of Photography including landscapes. Today I went for a drive in search of a landscape and to practice panning – a technique to capture a moving subject the subject being a cyclist.
Here is my go at a landscape!

So a little different for me but not to bad? What do you think?
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Me Week 6 | Blue Mountains Photographer
Well here I am again! Week 6 – as requested by Jo I am smiling! I took Jo’s photos in December and she would not believe me when I told her how lovely she looked when she was smiling! I have a feeling that is why she requested a photo of me smiling. OK she right I think I look awful smiling! Just as she felt about her! But after all this challenge is so that I know how it feels to see myself in photos – So there Jo – Me smiling… and I hate it..
Cam took this photo of me on Friday night when we were at Coogee. It was darker than when I was taking their photos so the sky is not as blue he did a good job though to capture this in the dark. Taken at f1.2.

I start school tomorrow! Looking forward to it, but also having a hard time thinking about everything I will have to fit in around being a full time student… Oh well better go pack my lunch box!
You may have noticed that I have added a ” Gift Shop” to my website! I have not put anything in the Gift shop yet but I will soon. I collected my flower prints today so they will be my first addition once they are framed, I also have the animal collection for the children to put up! So I will work on getting that done!

Surprising afternoon| Blue Mountains Photographer
On Friday after school pick up I headed down to the city to collect a print order that was ready. The traffic was horrendous and we got there about 4 minutes after the lab closed….
I decided since we had travelled down there and it was a Friday night we’d do something fun! So we headed over to Coogee where we had fish and chips on the beach after the sun had gone done and before a big storm came through. It was so dark and blue! It was a very strange light so of course I got my camera out and captured some amazing photos. I have done nothing to the colours when processing these photos – this is how they were SOOC ( Straight out of Camera ) Once I showed the kids the colours in these on the LCD display they happily posed away! How fantastic is this sky?????????

I got home so excited to get these shots up only to find our Modem had died! today we went and bought a new one. and WOW at the speed of this new one!!!
Due to the weather I did not get to do the shoot I had booked for yesterday – hopefully the weather will behave in two weeks when we have it rescheduled for. Next weekend I am photographing a little baby boy who was born on Saturday! So keep an eye out for newborn loveliness next week! Weather permitting. He lives on a large block of land so the session is going to be held outdoors.
Thanks for stopping by!
POTD 30 | Blue Mountains Photographer
I headed into town again today, to purchase my new camera bag!! WOW is it heavy with everything in it I want to carry around. But WOW is it fantastic having a bag I can cart my 70-200mm 2.8 Lens in that is easier to carry than my other bag, and more appropriate for day trips to the beach! Then we headed to the beach! And I made sure I used the 70-200! If I was super strict and only posted one photo a day this would be it. I was pretty excited to see this as it loaded onto my computer screen. My two boys. They have such a wonderful relationship. I love capturing them together!

But because I am not strict here are a few more!

and you can’t go to the beach without having an ice cream! and when you are 3 you can’t eat an ice cream in summer without ahhhh making a great big mess! He was quite proud of his mess. Even now we are home and he has seen the photo!

Tomorrow we are headed out in the opposite direction – up the mountains to the beautiful Leura so I hope to capture some more beautiful images!
Oh we visited our travel agent this morning and are waiting on the details for a Day dream island holiday!!!! I am getting excited about it all now – glad to leave the details and organising to someone else! So again if you are interested in a session in April and you leave between the Blue Mountains and Daydream Island let me know!
Thanks for stopping by I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

The winning image will be presented to the client as a 16×20/25 Atr Mount and each and every person who votes will receive a $50 voucher to use at a session they book with me. To vote you chose your favourite image and then comment. ( please don’t like as it does not count ) Once you have voted please drop me an email so that I can send you a voucher. You have to be a member of my fan page to vote. The vouchers will only be handed out until the 30th of December when voting closes but will be valid until the 30th of June 2010!

Good luck everyone!
Yesterday we head to the central coast late in the afternoon. The only time I can cope with the beach. I am not a fan of swimming in the beach but love to walk along the beach as the sun is going down. Yesterday we got there at around 5pm cooked a few prawns on the BBQ before heading off to a surf beach for a swim. I was happy hiding behind my camera and got lots of photos of the kids swimming, digging sand holes and making sand castles. We packed up just before the rain started and the kids fell asleep in the car on the way home!
Here is Mark peeling the Prawns by the water.

Sorry had to come back and add another. How cute is my little one?

Good luck in the competition – don’t forget to let all your friends know to increase your chances and email me for the voucher!
Thanks for stopping by!
